Thank you for your reply @Siygess:) I really like the black and white pattern for the Keeper of the Art and I think I will use it with some variation on my mini. Also currently I'm thinking about a space free hand drawing on his cloak, like the one below.But his cloak has a lot of folds, which makes the free hand drawing difficult to me. I'll see if I can do it.  ;)

The question is, how does the psychic power "Necrovisual Link" work?

Does NL ignore the -4 for the cover? Does ignore the - 2 for the distance? Does ignore the camoufflage?

For example, if I use Necrovisual Link on a Nasca Razide with Nazgaroth (R30) and if the enemy model is whitin 15" in cover the result is:

RS 13 (Nasca Razide). 13:2 = 6,5, rounded is 7. Than do I have to subtract 4 to 7 for the cover?

I don't recall if the 'spines' ever had a documented purpose - even back in the days of the RPG - but for sure it seems like they would somehow help to channel the art.

Hi there,

at the moment I'm preparing the Keeper of the Art Mini for painting. I finished my Brotherhood starter and some Brotherhood heroes by now. :) The resin cast quality of the Keeper of the Art Mini could be better tbh, but it is fixable. The starterbox minis were cheaper and had a much better quality, I think that is strange.

I don't have much insight into the fluff, that's why I have some questions. What is this strange thing on the back of the Keeper of the Art? Is this "backpack" some sort of machine that helps him cast spells? I haven't decided jet, on how to paint him. What I know is that I don't like the Prodos box art. Which picture of the Keeper of the Art do you like the most and could you post a picture of it? Does the fluff mention which colors I can / should use to paint him? I found this old artwork of him, but I'm not sure if it has enough contrast for a miniature.

The development of new profiles was always interesting; Marshall would toil away at the forge to produce something and the rest of us would hammer away at it, offering our own thoughts and doing some playtesting, eventually resulting in at least a couple of revisions before it was ready to be quenched and passed on to the community to try out. This process was of course interrupted by the way things ended with Prodos and not everything that was published in the Kirkwood PDF was quite ready. The version of Ilsa included in Kirkwood was based on a more complicated but also slightly weaker version that pre-dated the March 2018 version I had been discussing with members of the team. It may be moot now, but for those of you who might want to use her, here is the 'final' version of that character.

Kirkwood vs my March 2018 version.

1) Beat Back: The 'push back' ability was initially built into her melee weapon, Snap Kick. But the timing of it - mostly because it could trigger during Sentry - could lead to some problems. In the end I replaced the melee weapon with a humble combat knife and moved the effect out into it's own ability that triggers at the start of squad (but not model!) activation. That way, whether she activates engaged, or is attached to a squad where some of it's members are engaged, the trigger happens BEFORE any models are activated.
2) Sturmpioniere: This became "Prepare for the Worst". Even if you know who the Sturmpioniere are, it wouldn't be clear why bringing Ilsa would somehow make Heal better for everyone else. These guys would often be dug in for a very long time, building and defending fortifications or laying siege to someone else's. For that reason, the 8th always bring plenty of extra medical supplies because every Hussar needs to remain in the fight for as long as possible. Their job is not glamorous and nobody else is coming to do it if they fail!
3) Pour it On: Mich and I often talked about the different types abilities and effects, noting that hardly anyone in Bauhaus - apart from Ilsa's friend Colonel Marbach - had an 'aura' like ability. Pour it On is a once per game ability that affects her and the squad she is attached to, making the Rapid Fire action a lot better. As a 'defensive' character, this helps out with backline defence when enemy units suddenly show up from the flanks or rapid deployment.. but if you are prepared to sacrifice her, you could always make use of a Venusian Marshal..

4) The RES cost of Pour it On was increased.
5) The range on the Get Down! ability was slightly decreased, but now the affected models also do not count as being engaged. I realised this was necessary because if Ilsa is attached to a squad, pushing her enemies back would almost always result in those models getting pushed into combat with her squad mates (thus were not viable targets for her to shoot) and in some cases it would actually be beneficial for the opponent as it might bring more models into CCWR of their own. This change mitigates the first problem, but still leaves the second option open to clever players looking to exploit this 'weakness'.

It pits two small corporation forces (Capitol and Imperial) against a larger Algeroth force attempting to escape a beseiged citadel on Mars.
