Questions about the Keeper of the Art mini and fluff
« on: March 10, 2019, 03:02:53 PM »
Hi there,

at the moment I'm preparing the Keeper of the Art Mini for painting. I finished my Brotherhood starter and some Brotherhood heroes by now. :) The resin cast quality of the Keeper of the Art Mini could be better tbh, but it is fixable. The starterbox minis were cheaper and had a much better quality, I think that is strange.

I don't have much insight into the fluff, that's why I have some questions. What is this strange thing on the back of the Keeper of the Art? Is this "backpack" some sort of machine that helps him cast spells? I haven't decided jet, on how to paint him. What I know is that I don't like the Prodos box art. Which picture of the Keeper of the Art do you like the most and could you post a picture of it? Does the fluff mention which colors I can / should use to paint him? I found this old artwork of him, but I'm not sure if it has enough contrast for a miniature.

I don't recall if the 'spines' ever had a documented purpose - even back in the days of the RPG - but for sure it seems like they would somehow help to channel the art.
There are some pretty cool examples out there from both the current and previous editions:

Although I personally like this scheme:

I had the pleasure of working with Marshal and Andreas (and Bart, and Michael) on the Rules / Playtesting team for several years. Prodos may be done with WZR but I'm still creating stuff!

Thank you for your reply @Siygess:) I really like the black and white pattern for the Keeper of the Art and I think I will use it with some variation on my mini. Also currently I'm thinking about a space free hand drawing on his cloak, like the one below. But his cloak has a lot of folds, which makes the free hand drawing difficult to me. I'll see if I can do it.  ;)
